Seeking help in times of distress can be difficult, even scary. Comfort Corner is a resource for those struggling with their mental health to show them they're not alone. Created and maintained by students at the University of Oregon, Comfort Corner tells stories of real people living with mental health and mood disorders, acting as a middle ground for those affected by these issues but who may not be ready to talk with someone about them. Comfort Corner offers stories of hope and encouragement, demonstrating that things do and can get better, even if it doesn't always feel like it.
Kate's Story - Depression
Kate experienced her first major depressive episode in high school after a break-up, with episodes of depression, anxiety, and insomnia following her into college. Discovering photography gave Kate a source of motivation and a tool to "retrain" her brain to think positively.
